I am extremely pleased to say that the Year 4-6 students raised a little over $2,200 for our Wheelathon fundraiser! I know right- WOW!! The students were given a hands-on/bottoms-on experience steering and moving around in a wheelchair. Most children found it quite challenging to operate the chairs and negotiate the course but it was met with smiles and a better appreciation for what some other children have to face every day. We hope that the Years 4-6 students left school with an understanding of why ‘Wheelchairs for Kids’ is so important and were encouraged to look to the needs of others, not just their own.
